Liz Jansen - Ontario

There’s no question that Liz has achieved her goal to be a positive role model in motorcycling. She rides (lots!), she instructs in a community college motorcycle rider training program, she serves on the MCC board, and she was passionate enough about motorcycling to leave the corporate world to start up her own two-wheeled touring business (www.trilliumtours.com).

‘It seems like motorcycling has always been a part of me. I began riding in my teens when my brothers purchased a Honda 90 step-thru which we used to ride around on the farm. I’d like to say it was only a few years ago but, realistically, I’ve been riding for more than 30 years. My all-time favourite ride is my current bike, a 2002 Yamaha FZ1.’

In addition to instructing in the rider training program, Liz also delivers workshops for Humber College and participates in demo days for several manufacturers. She’s been involved in the Brampton Motorcycle Association since 2003. Through her involvement with MCC, she welcomed the opportunity to create the Women Riders Council.

‘Motorcycling for me is not the end result; it is a part of the process – a means to an end. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to accomplish this and I’m grateful that I’ve been given the wherewithal to do so.’
