New Off-Road Council videos encourage motorcyclists to plan for a safe ride

We love riding the trails – exploring the natural beauty of Canada’s wilderness, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying life on two wheels. But we also realize how important it is to plan for a safe ride. Trail riding has its own challenges due to the remoteness of some trails. That’s why it is so important to prepare before you go. Wear the appropriate safety gear, check over your bike so it’s in good working condition, fill up the gas tank, pack food and water, make sure someone knows where you are going and when you will return, have a trail map handy, and always ride with someone.

MCC’s Off-Road Council created a new series of Trail Riding Safety videos that look at all aspects of trail riding safety. The short videos discuss best practices for before, during, and after trail riding. Aimed at new and seasoned riders, the videos take friends through the necessary steps to plan, prepare, and share the trails. They also look at volunteering to help keep the trails clear for users, and the importance of having the proper training to navigate the trails.

Have a close look, the videos feature Loïc Léonard and Félicia Robichaud, International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) medalists. Plus, you may catch a glimpse of MCC Chair Dave Millier and his family, and how they ensure a safe trail ride before they head out.

Thank you to our actors Loïc Léonard and Félicia Robichaud. We appreciate them taking the time to work with MCC, along with their friends who helped out, especially Crystal Robichaud and Thor the dog. A special thank you to Irwin Supply and Tom Irwin for kindly allowing us to use your showroom, and to the Robichaud family for providing access to their land near Cornwall, Ontario. Thank you to Dave Millier for allowing us to film on his property in Springwater, Ontario and to members of the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders for their assistance.
