It’s the summer of 1974. Picture a group of kids hanging out with family and friends at the cottage. Then the rev of a Honda Z50 engine caught an 11-year-old’s attention. All the kids gathered around, looking forward to their turn on Kenny’s brand new off-road motorcycle. Then it was Grant’s turn to take it for a spin. He made his escape into the great outdoors and got his first real taste of freedom. He was hooked.

One million Canadian motorcyclists are back on the roads and trails. May signals the arrival of warmer weather and the official launch of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. This year, the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) is reminding all drivers that sharing the road means sharing the responsibility.

Take the Motorcycle Safety Pledge. May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. A national initiative, the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada is promoting motorcycle safety among all road and trail users across Canada.

We may see them on TV or the big screen, or hear their songs are on your playlists. But did you know these proud Canadians also have two wheels in their garage? Whether they are looking for an escape, or to connect with fellow motorcyclists, these Canadians have a passion for life on two wheels.

Get your motorcycle fix this winter at a local motorcycle show! Whether you’re a seasoned rider, want to experience a new life on two-wheels, or are looking for a fun day trip, attending a motorcycle show is a great way to connect with other riders and plan for your upcoming riding season.

This year’s annual fall AGM was one of MCC’s best. Our members are from all across Canada who represent the interests of motorcyclists at a national level. It is one of my favourite parts of belonging to the MCC.
